2. When did you get started and the meaning behind your company’s name?

We got started in 2012. It started at 3 am in the morning praying to God for the right name. Rumalutions is like the evolution, rebirth of a traditional dessert that was mainly eaten during the holidays, we wanted to make it an everyday dessert.

We cater to almost any, and every event that people want our cakes. Rum cakes are unique, they can be in a fun, relaxed celebration or they also fit as a gourmet dessert in a formal setting.

Before starting the company, I served the country as a United States Marine. Now we serve people in a different way.

5. What would you like to say about changing your career path?

If you have a passion or a burning desire to do something more in your life, do it. When you feel these things in you, it’s evidence that God already has it ready prepared for you, all you have to do now is take the action, gain the skills, and serve others, and give God all the praise.

We recommend at least two weeks to a month depending on the event’s size.

To be a Veteran business owner is an awesome honor. We have an opportunity to not only serve the country, serve others our delicious desserts, but we also serve as an example to others, and especially veterans that they too can become entrepreneurs.

9. Who was your biggest supporter for starting your business?

My biggest supporter for starting the business was my mother and grandmother. They’ve always believed and supported me. I also have two great mentors who continue to support and challenge me.

10. Anything else you would like our readers to know?

You don’t have to know everything to start. You make a lot of mistakes, make them early, and learn from them. You’ll have ups, and downs, but don’t let the downs discourage you. Make your business about serving others, and always put God first.
